Turquoise Tarmacadam- brief
.
The Good Hatchery would like to invite applications for a group residency to take place from mid September until the end of November 2010 in The Good Hatchery . Applications will be accepted from groups of cultural practitioners of up to four people at least one of which should be a visual artist. Turquoise Tarmacadam will take the form of a self directed residency during which the selected group will have sole access to the studios, workshop and accommodation at The Good Hatchery entirely free of charge.
Applications will be accepted from practitioners from all disciplines.
Turquoise Tarmacadam would suit a group with a specific project in mind who feel that they would benefit from a dedicated work period. Proposed projects may take the form of multi-disciplinary research, studio work or practical investigations into this particular environment.
Please note that The Good Hatchery is rural space that is heated by solid fuel burners and runs a sustainable compost system, as such this opportunity would be most suitable to people with basic practical skills and a hands on ethos. Applicant groups must have a vehicle at their disposal for the duration. Accommodation at The Good Hatchery comprises 1 double room, 2 single rooms and a fold out double bed for visitors.
Further resources include large open plan studio, large workshop space and construction area,
extensive library, electric shower and newly installed lighting system.
